The School Advisory Council is a school-based group intended to represent the school, the community and families at the school. The group shares in the responsibility of guiding the school toward continuous improvement. The committee meets once a month at 2:30pm.

What is the role of the School Advisory Council?
The group assists in developing the School Improvement Plan, which establishes the goals and objectives for the school. The team also monitors the usage of school Improvement funds and how to support the goals within the plan. They assist in the evaluation of the School Improvement Plan, and in the preparation of the school’s annual budget.

Who serves on the School Advisory Council?
The majority of members on the council are parents just like yourself, who are able to attend one time per month for about an hour. Certain members are elected by their peers, such as teachers, while business and community partners are appointed.
